Gauge tie rods are divided into two categories according to their materials: ordinary gauge tie rods and insulated gauge tie rods. Among them, the insulating tie rod is used for intermediate insulation to ensure the technical requirements of the track insulation, and the ordinary gauge tie rod is generally located at the corner or at the turnout. When the locomotive passes, the pulling force of the tie rod should be used to prevent the guide rail from expanding outward, and the guide rail is fixed by the tie rod to allow the locomotive to pass safely.
