What is a railway sleeper plate?
Railway sleeper plates, also known as railway tie plates or base plates are made of mild steel, cast iron, wrought iron or malleable steel and are sandwiched between flat-bottomed rail feet and wooden sleepers to distribute the load over a larger area.
Types of Railway Sleeper Plates

Casting railway tie plates
