Regular maintenance of steel sleeper
Regular maintenance
Inspection and evaluation
Damage inspection:
Inspect the steel sleeper regularly for cracks, deformation, wear or other damage.
Any damage found is recorded in detail and its impact on track stability and safety is assessed.
Fastener system inspection:
Check fasteners for looseness, damage, or missing.
Ensure that the fastener system holds the rail securely and prevents the rail from shifting or falling off.
Cleaning and maintenance
Clean up clutter:
Remove weeds, dirt and other debris around the steel sleeper and ensure that there is good ventilation and drainage between the bottom of the sleeper and the track bed.
Anti-corrosion treatment:
For exposed steel sleeper parts, it should be considered to treat with preservatives to extend its service life.
Adjustment and fastening
Adjust sleeper position:
Make sure the steel sleeper is positioned correctly and that there is no deviation or subsidence.
If the sleeper position is found to be incorrect, it should be adjusted in time to ensure the geometry and stability of the track.
Fastening fastening system:
Periodically tighten the fastener system to ensure that the rail is firmly attached to the rail pillow.
Tighten with appropriate tools and methods to avoid over - or under-tightening.
