Rail Breakage Permanent Repair Process
Remove Damaged Rail Section
Cut the Rail: Use a rail saw to cut out the damaged section, ensuring clean and straight edges. Remove Fasteners: Detach rail fasteners, sleepers, and other components holding the damaged rail in place.
Prepare the Replacement Rail
Measure and Cut: Cut a new rail section to the required length, matching the original rail profile. Drill Holes: Drill holes for bolted connections if necessary.
Install the New Rail Section
Align the Rail: Position the new rail section carefully, ensuring proper alignment with the existing track. Secure the Rail: Use fishplates (joint bars) and bolts to connect the new rail to the existing rails. Ensure tight and secure connections. Reattach Fasteners: Reinstall rail fasteners and sleepers to hold the rail in place.
Restore Ballast and Track Bed
Replace Ballast: Add fresh ballast to stabilize the track and ensure proper drainage. Compact the Track: Use specialized equipment to compact the ballast and ensure the track is level and stable.
