What is a rail splint

Rail Joints For Heavy Rail
01.

Structure

The rail splint is usually composed of a plate body with a screw hole in the middle. The upper and lower sides of the horizontal axis of the screw hole are provided with an upper working face in contact with the lower part of the rail head and a lower working face in contact with the upper part of the rail bottom.
Some types of rail splints (such as bridge fishplates) also have special structures to reduce the impact of the wheel on the rail joint, increase the continuity of the longitudinal deformation of the rail at the joint, and improve the smoothness of the train when passing.

Features

The rail splint has sufficient strength and impact resistance to withstand various forces during train operation.
It is easy to disassemble and maintain, and can ensure the continuity and stability of railway tracks.
The insulated fishtail plate also has the characteristics of corrosion resistance and rust resistance, which is suitable for railway track connection in special environment.
