What are the types of railway fasteners

Classification by structure and use:

Retainer for reinforced concrete roadbed: This retainer is usually made of reinforced concrete and is used to fix the connection between the rail and the reinforced concrete roadbed.
Column fastener: mainly used to connect vertical rail and track bed, common in special terrain such as elevated Bridges.
Elastic fastener: with a certain degree of elasticity, it can absorb shock and impact when the train passes, reduce noise and vibration, and is often used in urban light rail and high-speed railway.
Special fasteners: designed according to the special requirements and use scenarios of the railway, such as electrified fasteners, high-speed railway special fasteners, etc.

Classification by fastener:

Rigid fastener: This fastener usually has high rigidity and stability, and is suitable for occasions with high requirements for track stability.
Elastic fastener: has a certain degree of elasticity, can provide better shock absorption and noise reduction effect, suitable for urban rail and high-speed railway and other need to reduce noise and vibration occasions.

Classification by rail groove:

Shoulder fastener: The rail groove has a shoulder structure to provide better gauge retention.
Shoulder free fastener: The rail groove has no shoulder stop structure and is suitable for specific track types and mounting methods.

Classification by sleeper:

Wooden sleeper fasteners: fastener types suitable for wooden sleepers, such as split fasteners and mixed fasteners.
Concrete tie fastener: Type of fastener suitable for concrete tie, such as spring bar fastener system and plate fastener system.

High-speed rail fastener system:

Ballasted track fastener: mainly adopts three types of fastener type Ⅳ, type Ⅴ and type FC fastener, which are divided into shoulder stopper and shoulder stopper fastener according to the foundation form under the rail.
Ballastless track fastenings: WJ-7, WJ-8, W300-1 and SFC fastenings are mainly used, which are divided into shoulder free and shoulder free fastenings according to the form of ballastless track bed.
