Classification by material

Wooden Pillow:
Also known as sleeper, anticorrosive wooden sleeper or oil sleeper, made of wood.
Strong and flexible wood should be used to make wooden pillows.
Concrete pillow:
Including reinforced concrete sleeper, prestressed concrete sleeper, special concrete sleeper (such as concrete wide sleeper, steel fiber concrete sleeper).
Concrete sleeper has the advantages of long service life, good track stability, and can meet the requirements of high speed and large volume.
Prestressed concrete sleeper can save a lot of high-quality steel, and the structural strength is higher.
Special concrete sleeper, such as concrete wide sleeper, improves the stability of the track and reduces the maintenance workload by increasing the supporting area and reducing the eccentric load.
Steel Pillow:
It is widely used in some railways, but because the steel pillow is easy to rust, the amount of steel is large, and the maintenance cost is high, its use has gradually decreased.

Sorted by location of use

Ordinary sleeper:
Used for ordinary sections on railway lines to support the rail and maintain its orientation and position.
Switch Tie:
For the railway switch area, its length and section size are designed according to the actual width and demand of the switch.
Bridge Pillow:
Used on railway Bridges, the section size varies according to the size of the center spacing of the main beam (or longitudinal beam) to adapt to the special structure and bearing requirements of the bridge.
