Structure
The rail shoulder is a section of the rail cross-section that has a specific shape and size. Its shape and size are determined according to the standards and requirements of the railway system to ensure good contact with the wheel tread and guiding effect.
Features:
Load-bearing: The shoulder of the rail is in contact with the tread of the wheel, bearing the vertical load of the train and distributing it to the sleeper and track bed below the track.
Guide: The two edges of the rail shoulder provide guidance for the wheels, ensuring the stable operation of the train on the track and preventing derailment.
Protection: The shoulder also protects other parts of the rail, reducing the impact and wear of the wheel on the rail.
