Rail Shoulder Installation Guide
Installation Guide
Tools and Materials Required
Rail shoulders (appropriate type and size for the rail)
Rail fasteners (clips, bolts, etc.)
Rail anchors
Measuring tape
Spirit level
Torque wrench
Hydraulic jack or rail lifting device
Rail gauge
Brush or compressed air for cleaning
Lubricant (if required)
Safety gear (gloves, safety glasses, helmet, etc.)
Installation Steps
Step 1: Positioning the Rail Shoulder
Lift the Rail: Use a hydraulic jack or rail lifting device to lift the rail slightly above the sleeper.
Place the Rail Shoulder: Position the rail shoulder correctly under the rail base, ensuring it aligns with the sleeper and rail profile.
Step 2: Securing the Rail Shoulder
Attach Rail Fasteners: Secure the rail shoulder to the sleeper using appropriate rail fasteners (clips, bolts, etc.). Ensure that the fasteners are tightened to the manufacturer's specified torque using a torque wrench.
Install Rail Anchors: If required, install rail anchors to prevent longitudinal movement of the rail.
Step 3: Final Checks Check
Alignment: Use a rail gauge to verify that the rail is correctly aligned and spaced.
Verify Level: Ensure the rail is level using a spirit level.
Inspect Fasteners: Double-check that all fasteners are securely tightened and that the rail shoulder is firmly seated.
