Rail Gauge Tie Rod manufacturing process

manufacturing process

Material selection and preparation
Material selection: The gauge rod is usually made of high-strength, corrosion-resistant metal materials, such as alloy steel, stainless steel, etc., to ensure its stability and durability during use.
Material preparation: The selected metal material is cut according to the size required by the design, ready for the subsequent processing.
Processing and forming
Forging: Forging may be used for some gauge tie rods with complex shapes or high strength requirements. Forging can obtain the desired shape and size by applying pressure to the metal blank, causing it to produce a plastic deformation.
Machining: including turning, milling, drilling, tapping and other processes, used to finish the blank after forging or casting to achieve the accuracy and surface quality required by the design.
Heat treatment
Heat treatment is a key step to improve the performance of gauge tie rod. Through the heat treatment process such as quenching and tempering, the microstructure of the material can be improved, the hardness, strength and wear resistance can be increased, while maintaining a certain toughness and plasticity.
Surface treatment
Anti-corrosion treatment: In order to prevent the gauge rod from being corroded during use, anti-corrosion treatment is usually carried out, such as galvanized and sprayed anti-corrosion paint.
Surface treatment: It may also include sandblasting, polishing and other processes to improve the finish and beauty of the surface.
