Installation procedure
Installing rail shoulders is one of the key steps to ensure the safe and stable operation of railway lines.
Determine the position: Before starting to install the rail shoulder, it is necessary to determine the position of the rail shoulder according to the design requirements. This includes determining parameters such as the spacing, height and length of the rail shoulders.
Prepare the foundation: Clear or level the ground in the track area to ensure that the foundation is stable. You can use an excavator or other tool to remove weeds, dirt, or other obstacles.
Install the retainer: Place the retainer (such as wooden piles or concrete blocks) on the foundation on both sides of the track according to the design requirements. The number and spacing of retainers shall meet the specifications.
Install the rail shoulder: Place the rail shoulder on the retainer and ensure that it is aligned vertically with the track. Rail shoulder plates are usually made of steel and are strong enough to support the weight of the track and train.
Fixed rail shoulder plate: Use bolts, nuts or welding methods to connect the rail shoulder plate to the holder. Make sure the connection is secure to prevent the rail shoulder from moving or loosening.
Verify installation: Verify and adjust the rail shoulder after installation. Check the levelness and verticality of the rail shoulder, and use a measuring tool (such as a measuring instrument) to ensure that the position of the rail shoulder meets the design requirements.
Test runs: After the shoulder installation is complete, test runs are performed to ensure the stability of the track and shoulder. Trains can be tested through the track to check whether the shoulder can withstand the load of the train and provide good support.
