How to choose fastening system for different materials Sleepers

Fastener type:
Spike: Traditionally, wooden sleepers often use spike (such as spiral spike or hook head spike) as fasteners. The spike secures the rail backing plate (or the rail itself) to the rail sleeper by driving it directly into the wooden sleeper. This way is simple and direct, but it is necessary to pay attention to the anti-corrosion treatment of the spike to prevent rust from affecting the fastening effect.
Fastening bolts: Fastening bolts can also be used instead of spikes in certain situations where higher buckle pressure and stability are required. Fastening bolts are threaded to the sleeper or rail pad for more reliable fixing.
Elastic plate: In order to cushion the vibration and shock generated during the train running, the elastic plate can be added to the fastener system. This helps protect the wooden sleeper from damage while improving ride comfort.
Anti-corrosion treatment: Because the wooden sleeper is susceptible to moisture decay, the fastener system and its installation parts need to be anti-corrosion treatment to extend the service life.

 

Concrete sleeper fastener system selection
Fastener type:
Spring bar fastener: One of the most commonly used types of fastener, including buckle type, arch type and spring bar type. The spring bar fastener provides sufficient fastener pressure and stability by elastic clamping of the rail. Among them, the spring bar type I fastener is a more common type, including threaded spike, nut, flat washer, spring bar, gauge baffle, baffle seat and rubber cushion plate and other parts.
Other fasteners: such as fasteners, underrail plate fasteners, etc., can also be selected according to specific needs.
Elastic plate: Similarly, in order to cushion vibration and shock, elastic plate is often added to the concrete sleeper fastening system. This helps protect the sleeper and rail and improves the overall performance of the track.
Adaptability: The fastener system should match the geometry and material characteristics of the concrete sleeper to ensure stable installation and reliable fastening.
Easy maintenance: Considering that the replacement and maintenance of concrete sleeper is relatively complex, the design of the fastener system should be easy to disassemble and maintain, in order to reduce maintenance costs and improve work efficiency.
