How does the Rail Grinding Machine work
Work and principle of each component
First, power source
Rail sanders usually use electric motors or internal combustion engines as a power source. An electric motor is connected to a power supply through a power cord, while an internal combustion engine generates power through a fuel supply. These power sources drive the transmission system of the grinder, which in turn drives the grinding wheel to rotate at high speed.
Second, the transmission system
The transmission system is a key part of the rail sander and is responsible for transmitting the power generated by the power source to the grinding wheel. For the motor driven grinding machine, the output shaft of the motor drives the grinding wheel installed on the grinding wheel plate to rotate through the spline shaft, spline sleeve and other transmission components. For internal combustion engine driven grinders, power is transmitted to the spindle through a centrifugal clutch, and then to the output shaft through a multi-wedge belt and multi-wedge belt wheel, driving the grinding wheel to rotate.
Three, grinding wheel
The grinding wheel is the core component of the rail grinding machine, which is responsible for grinding the rail directly. Grinding wheels are usually composed of abrasives and bonds, abrasives have high hardness and good wear resistance, and can be used to cut and grind the rail surface during rotation. When the grinding wheel is rotated at high speed, it contacts with the rail surface and produces friction, thereby removing the dirt, rust, cracks and other defects on the rail surface.
Four, feed movement
In order to ensure that the grinding wheel can evenly and comprehensively polish the rail surface, the rail sander usually has a feed motion function. Feed movement refers to the movement of the grinding wheel in a vertical or transverse direction relative to the rail surface. By adjusting the feed handwheel or related control elements, the feed rate of the grinding wheel can be precisely controlled to ensure grinding quality and efficiency.
Fifth, operation and control
The operation of the rail grinding machine usually includes starting the power supply or the internal combustion engine, adjusting the speed of the grinding wheel, controlling the feed rate and other steps. Operators should be familiar with the structure, performance, and working principle of the equipment, and strictly follow the operating procedures. At the same time, in order to ensure the safety of the operator, the rail sander is usually equipped with safety protection measures such as protective cover and emergency stop button.
